How Design Neu Enhance This Industrial Interior with Unexpected Details

Industrial style interiors gained their popularity in the late twenties when renters started converting old buildings, decommissioned factories and unused offices into urban living spaces. The industrial look is the amalgamation of wood, concrete, dark steel and brick – common materials that factories were fitted out with. With such a large space, it was costly to renovate the entire office so homeowners retained these existing elements and matched their furniture accordingly. This style can be very minimalistic for those who want uncomplicated abode since the exposed brick and wood grains already adds plenty of character to the home.

The devil is in the detail.

This minimalistic living area features a two tones TV featured wall in black with a strip of wood laminate. Designer from Design Neu creatively mixed around different materials and inserted some geometric lines as some fun elements to neutralize this cooler design.

The floor tiling is in a lighter, grey shade to compliment the dark colours.

Instead of pure plain rugged cemented white walls, geometry lines are humbly added which bring out certain character to the adobe. The walls and grey coloured blinds matches to a T to make the overall aesthetics look less complicated, maintaining the industrial and minimalistic style.

Unique Customization

Contrary to usual belief of dark colours making space look dull, what matters is the way you use the colours. The dining space is beautifully done in shades of black and brown to give it an earthy yet modern look. The customized unique dining table is surely a highlight of this space. It looks solid yet practical and exquisitely fitted the design theme. A coffee corner has been outlined by the designer to satisfy the taste buds of the owners who are coffee addicts. This is truly a home café that one would stay rather than café hopping around during weekend.

The ceiling beam which is covered in black delineating the space all the way from dining area to the storage at the entrance. This thoughtful approach merges the space seamlessly.

The kitchen is done in similar combination of light and dark tones, the wood patterns provides a warm and cosy effect. Black glossy subway tiles chosen by the designer as the backsplash have brilliantly elevated the industrial feel, give it an elegant yet modish look.

Replacing walls with glass windows not only gives the impression of bigger area but also lets the host inside interact with its guests sitting outside. Watch as your friends cook up a storm just for you!

When Two become One.

Your room should be a retreat to relax your mind and body – the rose gold metal emits a soft and warm lighting to light up your abode ever so gently.  A wall separates the bed from the wardrobe. A narrow, long wooden dressing table saves space while allowing the lady a space to doll herself up without interruption from her other half.

A full length sliding door wardrobes mounted in the wall give ample storage space. The light fixtures throughout the house are kept uniform, a popular feature in modern industrial themed home – track lights which are long metal rods with small light sockets sticking out.

The bedside light in the bedroom creates a beautiful colour effect together with the concrete panel wall behind. It gives a soothing and cool tone during the day and warm when the yellow lamp strikes light against it at night. To blend in with the surrounding, a metallic stool is chosen as bedside table with its hexagonal steel legs with a dark wood top.

Elements of dark colours are added to accentuate the room, for instance, the rose gold trimmed mirror, sink counter top and the cabinet. A cabinet under the sink is spacious enough to hide away your toiletries, keeping the sink area uncluttered. Display only what you need. The designer prides himself on making functional and beautiful spaces.

Paying close attention to details such as the tap, shelves and pressure washer amalgamates the entire look of the washroom while maintaining uniformity with the rest of the house. The hexagon floor tiles with mixed patterns are also used to cover up part of the ceiling of this toilet.
